I can hear you talking yourself to sleep in your room as I type this. What a joy!
You continue to brighten our lives each and every day. It keeps getting better and better. Now that you are talking more, life is much more entertaining. You amaze me constantly with thoughts that you put together. You are so tiny, yet have such big ideas.
I love that you are playful and that you are the perfect combination of "rough and tumble" and pure sweetness.
Thank you for being such a good, happy, sleep-loving baby!
You've been singing bits and pieces of the alphabet song for a while now, but you caught us by surprise when you went for the whole thing during bath time:
And today, during a diaper change you started counting buttons on my shirt. I had no idea you could count so high! This is as much as you'd let me video later:
Just a few highlights of the last month:
Easter was just plain awesome. it fell on the same day as Uncle Patrick's birthday, but he was a good sport about letting you steal all of the attention and glory. You LOVED hunting for eggs ("Easta' egzz"). You were so proud of yourself for each one that you added to your basket. We had plenty of egg hunts around the house and had one at Grammy's house one more at Papa's house.
You also had a big day at Touch a Truck! You were a little overwhelmed by the crowd at first, but slowly warmed up. We ran into the Goldbergs, and you were elated to see Olivia. You were so cute with your little buddy!
You had your first ice cream in a cone after Touch a Truck. We can't seem to stay away from Chic-fil-a.
We also enjoyed a few birthday parties for Campbell and Emma! You were a little shy at both parties, but cake sure helped bring you out of your shell.
We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family!
A few things I don't want to forget:
You have great manners! This morning when I handed you your eggs, you said, "Tank you, Mommy."
You are making connections with music. When you hear a song that you like, your face lights up.
Cars and trucks rule the house right now! Tonight you put a Duplo piece on your vegetable truck and said something to the effect of, "Doster make a siren."
You still refer to yourself in the third person. I love that.
A random 103.5 fever sent us to the doctor again this month. You were completely fine after a day of resting, but boy, was Dr. Painter amazed at your vocabulary. I think you are finally warming up to him. You no longer cry immediately when he enters the room-- the same cannot be said for the shot/blood-taking nurse, Ms. Alexis.
This morning (a Sunday) I asked if you were hungry and you said "Chif-fil-a." I hope I haven't created a monster!
It's hard for me to fathom that you will be two years old in a few months. The last year has flown by. I cherish every single second that I spend with you!
